Welcome to my website. It's pretty empty right now, but I'm hoping to add more stuff on here as I finish projects. . . .

About me

My name is Sal. I'm a musician based in San Antonio, and I'm making this website as a place to share my projects. Right now, I haven’t completed any of them, but I’m hoping that making this site will motivate me to actually finish them. Some of these projects include a home studio (which I’ve made some progress on), an album, and a podcast. Most of my projects depend on finishing the home studio, which is part of why it’s taking me so long.
I’m also trying to avoid social media, so this will be my main place to post updates. I don’t expect a lot of traffic here this is mostly just for fun. I’ll be adding dedicated sections for each project as I make progress.

Music

I don't have any music out right now, but once it releases, this is where it will be posted. I also plan to post the gear and equipment I used to record, along with some extras about the music. For now, I'll just put something on here as a placeholder. In the placeholder, I used a Boss Katana 2x12 amp. The audio was captured through the line out on the amp straight to my interface, and then added to the video in post.

My "Studio"

I’ve been slowly collecting gear and piecing together a home studio where I will hopefully record an album someday. The goal is to have a space where I can easily capture my own ideas and maybe even demo other bands if they’re interested. This is also where I’ll be recording my podcast if that project ever takes off.

I made some DIY acoustic panels out of insulation, 2x4s, and some fabric. I would recommend doing this if you want to treat a room it helps a lot with reflections. I think I was able to make three large panels and two half-size panels with one packet of insulation. I don't remember the exact cost, but it was less than $200 total.
The studio is running off a Scarlett 18i20 3rd Gen and a Behringer ADA8200, for a total of 16 inputs. The back six inputs of the Scarlett are connected to a Hosa snake to give me some more flexibility if I want to mic some drums. The snake also has two TRS inputs, which I use to send headphone mixes when needed. I'm using Ableton as my DAW.
